sdla/SATは、アニメにインスパイアされたアートとタイポグラフィにユーモアを融合させ、日常生活の記憶や内省を描写することに重点を置いています。デジタルとアナログ両方のイラストレーション手法を用いた本展では、Tシャツという媒体を、実験的でありながら親しみやすい物語を伝えるキャンバスとして探求しています。

言語、年齢、性別、民族を問わず、普遍的でファッショナブルな表現手段であり、自己アイデンティティを示す手段であるTシャツ。「The Way We Wear」展は、常に予測不可能な世界の中で、人々の間に会話を促し、前向きなつながりと深い友情を育むことを願っています。

sdla/SAT specializes in capturing memories and reflections of daily life through blending together anime-inspired art and typography with humor. Often working between both digital and analog methods of illustration, this exhibition explores the medium of the T-Shirt as an experimental yet accessible canvas for storytelling.

With the T-shirt serving as a universal and fashionable means of expression and self-identity regardless of language, age, gender, or ethnicity, “The Way We Wear” hopes to initiate conversation and forge positive connections and deep friendships among people in an ever unpredictable world.

プロフィール / Profile

sdla/SAT a.k.a. Sat DE LOS ANGELES

カナダ・モントリオール生まれ。塩竈在住。ミクストメディアアーティスト。2015年コンコーディア大学（ジャーナリズム専攻）卒。これまでカナダ・モントリオール及びフィリピンで過ごし、2016年から現在まで宮城を拠点に活動する。多文化で多分野な経験と想像力を組み合わせたアートワークを通じて、ノートブックやスケッチブック上に個人的経験を日々記録している。sdla/SATは、コミック、マンガ、グラフィックデザインなど、東洋/西洋の両方の大衆文化の動向に大きく影響受け、わたしたちの視覚的な情報処理に新鮮な視点をもたらすことを試みる。2023年からシェアアトリエ「本多工房」を拠点に制作活動をする。

sdla/SAT is an experimental mixed-media artist. Currently based in Miyagi since 2016, he was in Montreal, Canada and lived in the Philippines for over a decade. His artwork is heavily influenced by trends in both Eastern and Western popular culture, including comics, manga, and graphic design. These influences are evident in his work - as he tries to bring a fresh perspective into how people digest information visually. sdla/SAT’s art draws from his multicultural and interdisciplinary experience and combines these elements together with a dose of imagination as he tries to document his personal experiences through his notebooks and notebook related-artwork.

Sat is also a member of Honda Kobo (Honda Artist Studio), a shared art studio space in Shiogama, Miyagi, JAPAN.
