しょうじこずえは、自然や生き物の生命力を感じうけとりながら、ドローイングや布貼り絵の手法で「いのち（生命力）」をテーマに表現しています。 今回は、古来から人間にとって身近な生き物である「鳥」「魚」に焦点をあてた新作群、そして塩竈市杉の入小学校児童と共同制作した布貼り絵作品《生命の旅》を展示します。 「作品との向き合い方は、自然や生き物を通して、彼らの生命力を感じ受けとることです。 例えば、お天道様やお月様のあたたかく心地よい光、海や山から吹く風やにおい、そして魚や鳥たちの生命力。 五感と心を通してそれらと触れあう(対話する)と、見えないけど感じるものを沢山受け取り身体も心もどんどん元気になっていきます。 栄養のように受けとったそのエネルギーを糧に作品を産み出しています。 ｢いのち、いろいろ。｣と個展タイトルをかかげました通り、自然も生き物も人間も、いのちいろいろです。 各々の感じるままに、作品と対話(鑑賞)頂けましたら幸いです。」-しょうじこずえ Drawing inspiration from nature and living things, SHOJI Kozue expresses the theme of “life” and “vitality” in this exhibition entitled, “Life, in many ways,” or「いのち、いろいろ。(Inochi, iroiro)」 Through her extensive experience combining use of illustration and patchwork cloth-pasting techniques, SHOJI channels the euphoria of joy and rejuvenation she gets from interacting with nature, as seen in her works involving birds and sea creatures. In addition, SHOJI features a collaborative art piece, called “A Life's Journey,” 「生命の旅し (Seimei no tabi)」made together with students of Shiogama City’s Suginoiri Elementary School in 2022. SHOJI considers nature as her life force, as it brings her energy and rejuvenation as seen in her work. She wishes for visitors to experience the same joy and feeling in interacting and appreciating her artwork in this exhibition.

プロフィール / Profile

しょうじこずえ / SHOJI Kozue
1988年、宮城県山元町生まれ。東北生活文化大学生活美術学科在学中に学科内コンクールで最優秀賞(中本誠司現代美術館賞)を受賞し注目を集めた。2011年同大卒業後、本格的に制作活動を始める。「YOUNG ART TAIPEI」(台湾)など国内外のアートフェア、グループ展に多数参加。最近の個展に「いのちの棲み家」(2018年、Gallery FACE TO FACE)、「わたしのいのちをあなたへ」(2019年、Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Roppongi)など。「MONSTER EXHIBITION 2017」にて優秀賞受賞。

Born in Yamamoto Town, Miyagi Prefecture, JAPAN in 1988 and graduated from Tohoku Seikatsu Bunka University in 2011.

A recipient of the Nakamoto Seiji Museum of Contemporary Art Award in 2011, she has participated in many art fairs and group exhibitions in Japan and overseas including ”YOUNG ART TAIPEI" in Taipei, Taiwan. Her recent solo exhibitions include “House of Life 「いのちの棲み家」, Inochi no ie” at Gallery FACE TO FACE in 2018 and “My Life to You, 「わたしのいのちをあなたへ」Watashi no inochi wo Anata e ” at the Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo in 2019.
