石田貴裕は、自ら収集してきたイメージを題材に作品制作をします。それは興味が赴くまま集められたものであったり、街にありふれている看板のイメージであったり、果ては自分自身が変装をして自撮りしたものであったりと無節操に題材を集め続けています。宮城初個展となる本展では、そのイメージを重ね"作品"へと変換したときに現れる形容・形態に迫ります。石田自身が女性に扮した写真を原版に、シルクスクリーンや転写技術に展開した作品『self-portrait series』、キャンバスの上に既製の金属パーツを取り付け、既視感に囚われながらも未知なるものへの畏怖を表現した『modern barricade series』等、様々な形式の作品を一堂に公開します。

Iwate-born ISHIDA Takahiro creations derive from his vast archive of photographs amassed over time. From the mundane stillness of street signs to the intimate and playful selfies of himself, he demonstrates his desire to mix, match, and play with these images, stacking layer for layer in order to explore and create a variety of unique shapes and forms, which in turn transform and emerge into such vibrant and colorful works of art. Making his inaugural solo exhibition in Miyagi Prefecture with Birdo Flugas, [set up] asks the audience to reflect and rethink the common standards of how artworks are represented using his own original print photographs alongside with silkscreen and other kinds of printing techniques and styles. Works such as “Modern barricade series” and other works in a variety of formats will be shown in this exhibition.

1988年 岩手県北上市に生まれる。2009年頃より創作活動を開始。

Born in Iwate Prefecture’s Kitakami City in 1988, and ventured into producing various creative works beginning in 2009.

He has been involved with a variety of art-related events and solo exhibition works between 2020 and 2023, at spaces such as gCRADLE in Aomori City, Aomori Pref., The Junko Museum of Art and the NAKAJIMA ART SPACE, both located in Kitakami City, Iwate Pref., un petit GARAGE in Tokyo, and the Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art in Kurayoshi, Iwate Pref.
