展示紹介 / Exhibition Introduction
家業である苺農家を手伝いながらイラストレーターとして活動する齋藤寛子による個展「Blue Blue Blue」では、齋藤がいとしむ"青"をテーマに描いた水彩画や刺繍作品、そして齋藤自身の暮らしそのものである"畑"を描いた作品群を展示します。

Multitasking between helping out her family’s strawberry farm and creating soothing and mesmerizing art, illustrator Hiroko SAITO features fabric works and watercolor drawings with these motifs in the spotlight. There are two central themes that focuses on - blue, the color she has long been influenced been; and the fields, which can be said to her way of life. Launching this exhibition at Shiogama’s Artist Studio Honda Kobo’s first floor gallery, birdo flugas is delighted to showcase SAITO’s works of both “blue” and “field.”概要 / Summary

- 齋藤 寛子/SAITO Hiroko(イラストレーター / Illustrator)
1990年石巻出身・在住。19歳で石垣島に移住、25歳で石巻にUターンし、家業である苺農家を手伝いつつ、イラストレーターとして活動をしている。峠の市やひころマルシェ他、地元のお店のロゴやイメージイラストを多数手がけている。
2019年からは自然農法で畑を始め、小さくゆるやかな自給自足生活を実践中。
Born in 1990 is and currently based in Ishinomaki City, MIYAGI Prefecture. SAITO lived in Ishigaki Island in OKINAWA Prefecture at 19 years old and returned to her hometown six years later.
Upon returning, she began to work as a freelance illustrator where has created many logos and image illustrations for local shops in the Ishinomaki area such as Touge no Ichi and Hikoro Marche.
In between her illustration work, she also helps out with her family's strawberry farming business. Since 2019, she started natural farming methods in her work while pursuing a minimalist and self-sustainable lifestyle.
