Honda Artist Studio is delighted to present the art of Miriam IWANOWITSCH. She will be presenting her recent work consisting of more than ten oil and acrylic paintings as well as a variety of collage art pieces. Experience her curiosity and imagination in experimenting with various painting materials as she marks her first solo exhibition in Japan.

プロフィール / Profile

Miriam IWANOWITSCH

Artist from Berlin, GERMANY. Lives in Sendai, Miyagi, JAPAN since 2023. A member of Honda Artist Studio since 2024.

Currently pursuing studies in archeology, she is also deeply influenced by her interest in folklore and history, in which her work incorporates these themes as a means of exploring personal and contemporary concerns. Each piece she makes is a deeply personal reflection, intertwining historical narratives with her own experiences and emotions. She has also co-organized "Drink and Draw Sendai", a series of community drawing sessions held at various venues in Miyagi Prefecture, where participants take turns modelling and drawing each other as an opportunity to experience live drawing, and enjoy engaging with art.

ドイツ、ベルリン出身のアーティスト。2023年より宮城県仙台市在住。2024年よりアーティストスタジオ「本多工房」メンバー。民俗学、歴史、考古学への関心から深く影響を受けた作品は、これらのテーマを取り入れながら、個人的かつ現代的な関心事を探求する手段となっています。自身の経験や感情が歴史的な物語と交錯し、より内面的な表現へと昇華されています。彼女はまた、宮城県内のさまざまな会場で開催されるコミュニティドローイングセッションシリーズ「Drink and Draw 仙台」を共同主催しており、参加者が交代でモデルを務めたり、お互いに絵を描いたりすることで、ライブドローイングを体験し、アートとの関わりを楽しむ機会となっています。
