本展は「移ろい（トランジション）」をテーマにしていますー残していくもの、持ち帰るもの、そのあいだにある曖昧な時間や感覚を見つめるものです。日本での時間を経て、まもなく帰国を控える作家にとって、「coming&going （行き来）」は、別れであり、そして内省の場でもあります。記憶、変化、そして私たちの中に静かに残る象徴的な痕跡をたどる展示です。

This exhibition reflects on transitions - on what is left behind, what is carried forward, and the spaces in between. As this artist prepares to return home after her time in Japan, “coming&going” becomes both a farewell and a reflection: on memory, change, and the small, symbolic traces that stay with us.

※ 7月15日より、ミリアム・イワノヴィッチ個展中、ビルドスペースは休廊していますので、ご注意ください。

From July 15 onwards during Miriam IWANOWITSCH’s exhibition, the Birdo Space Gallery will be closed and visitors are advised to proceed to Artist Studio Honda Kobo.

プロフィール / Profile

Miriam IWANOWITSCH ・ミリアム・イワノヴィッチ

Artist from Berlin, GERMANY. Lives in Sendai, Miyagi, JAPAN since 2023. A member of Honda Artist Studio since 2024.

Currently pursuing studies in archeology, she is also deeply influenced by her interest in folklore and history, in which her work incorporates these themes as a means of exploring personal and contemporary concerns. Each piece she makes is a deeply personal reflection, intertwining historical narratives with her own experiences and emotions.

During her time in Japan, she has also co-organized life drawing sessions among both local and international residents in Miyagi Prefecture. Inspired by her experience attending public community drawing classes held in her hometown, these sessions encourage participants to take turns modeling and drawing each other as an opportunity to experience live drawing, and enjoy engaging with art and fostering interactive cultural exchange.


ドイツ、ベルリン出身のアーティスト。2023年より宮城県仙台市在住。2024年より現在、シェアアトリエ「本多工房」を拠点に制作活動をする。

民俗学、歴史、考古学への関心から深く影響を受けた作品は、これらのテーマを取り入れながら、個人的かつ現代的な関心事を探求する手段となっています。 自身の経験や感情が歴史的な物語と交錯し、より内面的な表現へと昇華されています。

日本滞在中、彼女は宮城県内で地元住民と外国人住民を対象としたライフドローイングセッションを共同で主催してきました。 故郷で開催されたコミュニティデッサン教室に参加した経験から着想を得たこれらのセッションでは、参加者が交代でモデルを務め、互いに絵を描くことで、ライブドローイングを体験し、アートに触れ、インタラクティブな文化交流を育む機会を提供しています。
